Perhaps no other country does rail as efficiently and majestically as Switzerland. This 5-day tour combines three of the country’s most thrilling train trips with stays in two of its loveliest towns. Begin your adventure in beautiful Interlaken, from where you’ll journey to Europe’s highest rail station, the Jungfraujoch. Board the Glacier Express for a leisurely ride between the quintessentially Swiss towns of Brig and Chur, as you traverse mountain forests, peaceful Alpine meadows and the dramatic Rhine Gorge, known as the Grand Canyon of Switzerland. Your Swiss rail adventure finishes with a spectacular journey on the Bernina Express. The train crosses the Alps from Chur to the Italian town of Tirano, offering breathtaking views from its panoramic carriages. Ride over spectacular viaducts, through sheer rock gorges and switch-back tunnels, alongside mountain streams and glaciers. You’ll have some free time to explore Tirano, before taking the train back to Chur for your last night.
The tour package includes accommodations for 2 nights each in Interlaken and Chur, breakfast daily, a 4-day Swiss Rail Pass in Standard Class, a day trip to Junfraujoch, as well as round-trip reservations on the Glacier Express between Brig and Chur, and on the Bernina Express between Chur and Tirano. Prices for fall of 2024 and winter of 2025 start at $2199 per person.
